Unfortunately it is possible for Google Drive to stop running on your computer.

When this happens, for more than a day, you should get an email from us alerting you of this problem.

You can tell if Google Drive is running by having an active ICON in your systray.

 The Google drive Icon in the systray (the group of icons in the bottom right hand corner, next to the time) looks like this.

When you hover your mouse over the top of the icon (with out clicking), a status window opens up. You can then click the icon and get a full status window.

A few things to notice about the Status Menu for Google Drive.

You may have unsynced files. Click on this to view and retry to sync these files.

You can directly open your Google Drive folder from here.

You can also click and open your web based copy.

 Importantly you can check your space used.

Getting Google Drive running again.

1. If the Icon says 'Can not connect', or some other error, click the icon and click "Quit Google Drive".
2. Now click on start (the windows flag in the bottom left hand corner)
3. Click on all programs
4. Scroll to the folder 'Google Drive'
5. Click to open the Google Drive folder
6. Click to start Google Drive.

If you keep getting emails from us that Google Drive is not running, but your Computer says it is, please contact us.
