Setting up FTP access.

This is the easist way to get access to your backup files:

You will need to have your username and password on hand, but first:

  Download and Install the latest Firefox.

The latest Firefox is available HERE

Downlod and Install Fire FTP

The latest version of Fire FTP is available HERE

  1. Once you have these two programs installed start Firefox.
  2. Click on the Tools Menu
  3. Click on the Fire FTP Icon
  4. Fire FTP starts with a window similar to this.

 

In this windows I already have the Remote Backup location set. "backup.school.nz"

  1. If you click in the same area on your copy you will be given the opportunity to Create an Account.
  2. In the Host: area enter in the name of our backup site. backup.school.nz. (Or backup.geek.nz)
  3. In the Login: area enter the username we have given you.
  4. In the Password: area enter the password we have given you.
  5. Now Click on OK.
  6. And click on the Connect option next to "backup.school.nz. (Or backup.geek.nz)
  7. You should now connect to the remote backup server and see a list of your files on the right.
