7. Customizing your Backup

  1. In notepad, open the file Google Drive\ai.net.nz\aiBackup.conf
  2. This is the file we use to manage what your backups do.
  3. There are four areas you are interested in.

user_areas=Documents,Favorites,Contacts,Pictures
desktop_areas=NONE
extra_areas=NONE
multi_areas=NONE

user_area is your users home area, it is where th Documents folder is, and Pictures and several others that you might be interested in backing up. If you have some special folders in this area that you want backed up add them to this list, seperating them with a comma.

desktop_area is your computers desktop, rather than doing a blanket backup of this area, there may only be some folders you wnat to backup. Remove the word NONE and add the folder names you want to backup from the Desktop, seperating them with a comma.

extra_area is anywhere you comptuer can access, anywhere on the c: Drive, or some z: Network Drive. Remove the word NONE and add the full folder path you want to backup, seperating them with a comma. For Example: c:\my extra folder,h:\my network home

multi_area is anywhere you comptuer can access, anywhere on the c: Drive, or some z: Network Drive. The difference this time we make a seperate backup of this folder for each day of the week, Mon=0, Sun=6 and each week of the month. Remove the word NONE and add the folder names you want to back from the Desktop, seperating them with a comma. For Example: c:\acepayroll,h:\mysql\data

Once you have edited this file, Google Drive\ai.net.nz\aiBackup.conf, save and close.
